Visitors to your blog need not be bloggers and so they may find it difficult to stay updated with your blog posts. "Subscribe via email" feature allows the readers to register their email id with feedburner so that they receive a mail everytime you post something new..Once they provide their email id, they just have to verify using the link sent to their mailbox and they will start receiving updates...
Here is the process that the blogger has to follow to add this feature..........
You need to have a Feedburner account activated for this--
2. Enter your gmail id and password and click on "Sign in:. You arrive at this page. For this tutorial I am using my blog - http://easycrafts-softtoys.blogspot.com. Use your blog address wherever you find this link. After you enter your blog address, click on Next
3. You arrive at this page..Type in the Feed Title and Feed address as required and click on Next.
4. You arrive at this window..For the time being click on "Skip to feed management"
5. Click on "Publicize" tab. You reach this window
6. And then on "Email subscriptions" on the left side bar..
7. Click on "Activate". This window opens up...
8. Scroll down to see this portion ...
9 .. Now you have two options of how this feature would be displayed on your blog.
For the first one- Use the code given under "Subscription Form Code" .
Either you can copy and paste it by
Logging in to blogger id, going to the design tab, clicking on "Add a gadget", clicking the " +" button besides "HTML/Javascript", pasting the code there and saving.
Or you can choose the blogging platform option under "Use as a widget in" and click on Go..It will open up the platform like blogger in my instance below
Choose the blog and make changes to the Title as you want it to appear on your blog and click on "Add widget". The widget is added to your blog automatically. You will get the message as "Subscribe via email has been added to your page". If you wish to you can change the location of the widget to appear on your blog. The final look would be like this --
If you want the second type of display --
Copy the code under "Preview subscription link"
